It seems like yesterday that we broke ground on the Magic Quilting Studio 2.0.

Outer walls are up, and rafters are now in place. Looking back, I realize that this project could not have been scheduled at the worst time. (Note, I am certainly not to downplay the severity and devastating loss that this pandemic has caused to the world) Due to layoffs at lumber mills due to COVID-19, and the previous year’s wildfires, the price of lumber is extremely high. I also live in one of the fastest-growing towns in the United States, so I have a double scarcity to fight with. Put it into perspective, lumber prices are now about 112% from where they were last year. I have broken this project into lots of mini-Phases so I can pay as I go!

So what is my next step? I am all about roofs! I did not quite realize all the different types of roofing.

I do not want this Blog to be a pity party. Instead, this blog is all about hope. When the rafters started flying, I started to see my realized dream. Also, even though it is merely march I can see the early signs of Spring on the trees.

In other news, I have officially taken time off next year for QuiltCon 2022. Phoenix Arizona watch out I have my eyes on you!
